If you were to ask someone what they received for Christmas on their 8th birthday, they probably would not be able to remember. However, if you were to ask them where they went on vacations as an eight-year-old child, we are confident they could tell you! The times we retreat away from the stresses we often face always stand-out in our minds. Someone has said, “if we do not come apart, we will fall apart.”
Taking these breaks are important for us all, but especially vital for the welfare of a family. Our heroes who serve us in such extreme and stressful environments deserve a reprieve, as well. The Peacemaker Network is dedicated to making these opportunities affordable and available to our heroes and their families.
Hero Vacation Club
We have been able to give our heroes access to a Hero Vacation Club for no cost. These vacations give our heroes and their families an opportunity to vacation at some of the greatest resorts around the world at extremely discounted prices. The Hero Vacation Club provides a way that they can afford to retreat with their entire family and restore physically, mentally and spiritually.
Hero Get-A-Ways
We are working with partners to provide Hero Get-Away(s) to our heroes for only a small access fee (taxes included). The Hero Get-Away(s) will make a retreat vacation available for those who could not afford even an extreme discounted vacation. We will work diligently to make such trips happen for our heroes (especially for those going through crisis) by working with our partners. We will strive to make it happen for our brave men and women who would not be able to take such trips on their own.
**Hero House**
Our long range plan is to have several safe houses in place where we can confidentially get a Hero and/or family away on a moments notice. This Hero House will assist in helping them navigate personal crisis that may have come about because of the often dangerous and demanding jobs that they go to every day. A Hero-in-Crisis is one that constantly runs into danger not away from danger. We must provide immediate help for those who also need to retreat from such a stressful job, and have it available – complete with resources to help them recover.
